I 'stole' this quote from a friend of mine's blog. :) Check his out at: www.taylorreavely.blogspot.com.
He read it at a concert that I put together/attended this last Friday, and it was just SO true and SO...just such a good quote, that I knew I had to share it with my Blogger friends. :) It's by John Piper...
"A true Christian must be willing to say, 'I will not renounce Christ, even if it costs my life.' But as soon as we say that, it makes a whole lot of things in our lives look ridiculous. I will die for you, but I can't find time to sit and read your teaching each day. I will die for you, but prayer doesn't seem real. I will die for you, but I can't talk to Jim about you at work. I will die for you, but I can't support your cause with more than 10% of my income. One of the best ways to bring wonderful Christ-honoring changes into your life is to measure your way of life by your willingness to die for Jesus."
-John Piper
I hope that touched you today.
Blessings,
~Miss Raquel

P.S. Go ahead and check out my blog... I'm doing Luci's fashion week! Go over and see my photos if ya want! :)
That's funny, my dad's leading a series at church which is by John Piper. I think it's called Why We Believe the Bible. It's really good, and we did another one about men and women, also by John Piper. My dad adores him, so I have a suspicion that the Sunday school will be nothing but JP series for a while.
Not that I'm complaining, I really like Mr. Piper's solid faith and "no compromise" stance.
Blessings!
Marie
John Piper is a really, really solid preacher. Listening to his podcasts always drives me to move forward in my Christian walk, and it's good to see other people who benefit from his teaching as well. God bless!
