Nope, this isn't a synopsis of the movie. You're gonna have to check the movie out for yourself. ;)
But, anyway...it was a really, really good movie!! Hey! Definitely can't complain, since it's based in my OWN hometown! ;) Oh yeah! Very cool.
And plus...I love the Amish. I've always wanted to travel to Holmes County (Ohio) or Lancaster County (Pennsylvania), and stay at an Amish family's home for, at least, a couple weeks. It's been a dream of mine. ;) Anyway, but this movie was very insightful into the lives of Amish.
5 Amish children, to be exact...
L-R: Anna Mae, Josiah, Lyddie, Hannah, and Caleb Cottrell.
(Josiah and Lyddie)
and a Portland, city-girl, newpaper columnist:
Sarah Cain, played by Lisa Pepper (recommended by Anthony Hopkins, who directed her in 'Slipstream')
Directed by Michael Landon, Jr. (the Love Comes Softly movies and The Last Sin Eater), it is a touchy story, with a good moral and message.
It's rated PG for 'brief teen smoking'...and I would add 'some suggestive words'. But other than that, if you haven't seen it - you should. ;)
Oh, and if you're like me, you'll probably cry a bit. Just a warning! :)
