A fun little post :)

So...if you could describe me in ONE word...what would that one word be? :)

This could turn into a tag, if any of you would like. :)  So keep it circulating...

Paths...

What do you think?  Could you picture the Longbourne Estate around this corner?

And do you think Lizzy would enjoy this path on one of her daily exertions?

Reviving the Austen Look

Mother dear made me this dress, using the Sense and Sensibility Pattern.
In the 'Sense and Sensibility' movie (with Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet), Marianne (Kate) wears this exact dress, except it's an peach color.  During the first scene with Colonel Brandon, while she is singing.  Don't you LOVE it?!

I think this one (above) is my favorite picture...

Billowed out a bit here! :)

Fantastically beauitful gloves *sigh* (Mother's wedding gloves, to be exact :)

Pearl necklace and earrings set it off nicely.

What do you think?

Blessings!

Feelin' Feminine is hosting the 2010 Jane Austen Tour!  Wow, this is so exciting!
The tour actually started on he 19th, but hey!  I had a good reason for being a couple days behind ;) (check out my last post)  So...anyway...I'll try to catch up with a couple posts a day in the next few days.

Today's post, I am calling
 'Jane Austen Novels'

...enjoy my photography! (all rights reserved 2010 Deus Filia Photography)

Marianne: 'I have learned that it is not what we say or do in this life...it is what we don't do.'

Miss Bingley to Mr. Darcy: 'I fear this latest escapade may have lessened your regard for her "fine eyes".'
Mr. Darcy: 'Not at all. They were brightened by the exercise.'

Edmund Bertram: 'She does not think evil, but she speaks it.'
Fanny Price: 'The effect of education, I suppose.'

Mr. Knightley: 'I rode through the rain! I'd - I'd ride through worse than that if I could just hear your voice telling me that I might, at least, have some chance to win you.'

"Catherine hoped at least to pass uncensured through the crowd. As for admiration, it was always very welcome when it came, but she did not depend on it."

Anne Elliot: 'My instinct tells me, he is charming and clever but I have seen no burst of feeling, warmth of fury or delight.'

Photography contest!!

Rachel is having a photography contest!!  Exciting, eh?  Well, a dear friend of mine (Johanna at An Old Fashioned Girl) is entering too, and let me say, goodness sake!  I'm a bit afraid of entering after seeing her entries!  Wow, girl, you take some super amazing pics!  Good job!  Keep pursuing it! ;)

Okay, but...after thinking about it (not to mention Mother encouraging me to it ;), I've decided to enter.  Below are my entries.  Which one is your favorite?

'Around the Bend'...
I LOVE bends in the road (I guess I have a little of Anne Shirley in me ;).  They're always so mysterious and...you never know what lies around the corner.

'Blue Iris Amidst the Red Tulips'
The vivid contrast of color in this picture is so amazing!

'The Sweet Forget-Me-Not Bee'
I was astounded at how this sweet bee cooperated with me! :)  I was quite close too, but it just kept about its business and actually seemed to enjoy the picture-taking! ;)

'The Innermost Rose'
Someone told me that this looks like it can go on the front of a card! :) *haha*

Blessings!

Mrs. Sono Harris' Memorial Service...

...will be at the Good Shepherd Church in Sandy, OR.  View details on Facebook or on the Rebelution Blog.
Please RSVP on FB or via e-mail.

Please pray...

for a 23 year old young man who has denied his faith in the LORD and has become an atheist.  It is even more sad, because he gave his 'testimony' and was baptized just about a year ago (last summer sometime).  He is now an atheist and evolutionist.  Please keep his family in your prayers.

Good-bye, Mrs. Sono Harris...until we see each other again

Last evening, at around 8:00PM, Mrs. Sono Sato Harris peacefully left this earth.  Her earthly body is out of pain and she is now doing handsprings in heaven in her spiritual body!  The family is deeply grieving (and so am I), but it is so wonderful to know that she is now with our LORD.  Last night, at the 4th of July BBQ that my family and I went to (with our church), I couldn't quite participate in the festivities after hearing about this sad news...but then I remembered that I should.  I should be rejoicing for her.  Those fireworks last night symboled something more than freedom for our country.  In my mind, they were declaring the loss of a wonderful lady here on earth...but a heavenly celebration that she was now with her LORD.

Courageous, the movie - it's a wrap!!

Sherwood Pictures and the Kendrick Brothers have officially FINISHED filming the newest Sherwood movie...COURAGEOUS!  Isn't this just...TOO exciting?!  I can't wait for it to come out!! :)  You can look up more about this super cool movie on its website: http://www.courageousthemovie.com/.
Alex Kendrick said that, of course, it will still be a little while till they can get it out to theaters because they still have to edit it, etc....but, at least their done with it and can work on the editing part now! :) *hehe*
Anyway, just thought ya'll would like to know that!  Aren't you excited too??

Quick Question for any ECD dancers...

Hello to any English Country Dancers out there!

I was wondering...where do you get your music for a lot of your dances?  Is there a certain 'kind' of music you use?  Could you recommend a CD or two?  I have a few CDs on hand for the class that I will begin teaching in September, but I'm open for recommendations and am curious to know what CD/songs you use. :)  Let me know!

Blessings!

Personal life...haven't been updating ya'll!

Well, with all the busyness of the past few fashion events (and the one in progress!), I just haven't been able to find a little space in between every day to update you all on my day-to-day life.  Sorry about that!
So, I decided to do so right now...while I have a little relaxing time - before I rush off to another fictional that I'm working on. ;)  Oh yeah!  This one isn't modern-day, though.  Back in the pioneer/Western days.  If any of you have read the Love Comes Softly series by Janette Oke, you can get a pretty good idea of what my novel is like. :)
So...where do I begin?  Let's see...
Dad is back at work (after his foot fracture).  The P.O. was giving him a terrible time of getting 'sick leave', but he was finally able to get a 'doctor note' and was off for a week to recover.  Even after that week, he had to sit a lot (and not use his foot on a gas pedal), so the P.O. gave him office work - which he said was 'so boring'! :)  But now, he's back on the road...and his foot is 97% healed.  Praise the LORD!
Mother is doing well...only THREE WEEKS TILL BABY COMES!!!!!!!!!  WOW!  We are just...ecstatic about a little boy in the home again.  Aw!!  So precious!  Can't wait!  And this Saturday, my Aunt Lili and Grandma are throwing a baby shower for Mother at Uncle Oscar and Aunt Lili's home (he's the uncle that I stayed with when he had hip surgery).  So, that should be fun!  We're going to play a few games (Mother and I bought 'prizes' today :), and have lots of yummy food, and I'll have total fun being Mother's 'right hand (in this case) woman' :) - helping her open gifts, etc.  Yay!
Noah has been...well, since art school is 'out' till September, he hasn't been as busy with artwork as he usually is.  But he's still doodling away. ;)  He went to a friends' house for his friend's 16th birthday party and air soft 'war', and he got food poisoned!  He was really sick last weekend (couldn't make it to church) and he's still sort of getting over that.  I mean, he's a LOT better, but he still gets an achy stomach every now and then, but thankfully, we didn't have to take him to the hospital or anything.
Lydia...ouch!  She tripped outside and fell on a stick - it went straight up into her knee!! :P  She has a...okay, a hole in her knee.  (Please don't ask me how my family gets hurt so much! :)  Anyway, she's doing okay.  She can walk around and stuff, but can't bend her leg (at her knee) and has to elevate it every once in awhile.  At least she didn't need stitches!  Whew!  Oh, and you can keep her in your prayers (not only for her owie), because NEXT Saturday, she is going to be taking her first year-end CAT test and she's kind of nervous about it; poor thing!  If you could remember to keep her in your prayers that day, I know it'd mean a lot to her. :)  Thanks!
Eunice and Priscilla are both doing well.  Both are done with school and have been playing outside quite a bit. :)  They're really enjoying the warm(er) weather.
Grace is...oh goodness!  She's growing like a weed! :(  She's been making funny singing noises lately...just cracks me up! :D  She's a doll!  And I wish she could always stay little! :(  Oh well.  BUT, you know, this is a good chance for me to really be and set a good example for her - as an older sister and as an older *girl*, period.  I should be a good example to all of my sisters, but little Gracie is at that age where she just really, really follows whatever an older person is doing.  I've been having to really watch myself around her lately. ;)
Me?  Well...guess what?!?! :D  I've been waiting to finally burst!
I'm going to be teaching TWO CLASSES at Masters School of Art - starting in September!! :)  The LORD has just made SO much possible for this to happen and I am so grateful!  I will be teaching a Crochet class and an English Country Dance class!  Woohoo!!  And also, I will be taking the following classes:

Thursday:
Violin
Portrait 101
teaching English Country Dance
teaching Crochet
Color Pencil

Friday:
Yearbook/Photography
Painting 101
Computer Art 101
Drawing 101
Novel Writing

Wow!  I'm still SO excited!! :)
Well, anyway...I think that updates ya'll pretty well! :)  Hope you enjoyed reading that lil' update!  Oh, and by the way, be sure to go over to Lucia's blog and vote for your THREE FAVORITE Thrifty Chic Modest Fashion Event participators.  The poll is open till Saturday.

Blessings!
