{Day 28} - A scar that you have...and it's story

So...I was thinking about what to write for this post and actually, I have about three scars that I could write about...but I'm going to pick the most...unusual one. :D

So...when I was born, my right foot was bent backwards so that the top of my foot was touching my shin.  It was like that since I was in the womb, and while I was in there (*haha* that sounds kinda funny :), the top of my foot and my leg would rub against each other.  Not till I was out, was it able to be 'bent back' into the normal position.  But anyway, since they rubbed against each, I have a scar on my foot and...I think I'll have it for the rest of my life. :)  I got barefoot a lot and people have asked me where I got 'that scar from'. :)  I really don't mind, actually...so...if you ever want to see it, feel free to ask me.  Just kidding...that would be kinda rude. :P :D

{Day 27} - A physical feature you love

On a girl...

Long Hair

On a guy...

Blue Eyes

{Day 24} - A movie no one would expect you love

Okay, I must admit that I was kind of looking forward to this day's title. :)  The word 'expect' made me think of a more gory, violent, bloody movie...one that people wouldn't think I would enjoy.  And this isn't to say that I *do* enjoy those kinds of movies. :P  I try not to tell people (very often) about what kind of PG-13 or R rated movies I watch, just because people's first natural reaction is, 'Oh my goodness!  You actually watch movies rated that!  That's terrible...ungodly...etc.' :P  But, for this challenge, I guess I'll have to reveal a new side of me. :) *haha*
Well, all of you know (or at least I HOPE you know by now!!) that I absolutely love, Love, LOVE anything country.  Ranches, cowboys, horses, cattle, lassos, cowboy bootsetc.  So, my loving cowboy movies wouldn't be much of a surprise...would it? :)
So...I asked my dear Mother to help me with this post and the first movie that she thought of was:

*haha* How well my Mother knows me! :)
'The Patriot' has been a favorite ever since the first time I watched it.  It is such a good story...of a how a man who didn't want to fight in the war, does...for his family, his home, and his country.  And he helps win it.  It's an amazing movie, and it's in my top 20.  (Maybe I should do a review on it one of these days?  Do I hear a 'please!'? :)
Anyway...I definitely recommend this movie - but please let your parents preview it first!  And if you do see it (or already have), let me know what you think! ;)

Oh, and did I mention that I think the soundtrack is AMAZING!!!

{Day 22} - A website

A new website that I recently stumbled upon (and am enjoying!) is:

{Day 21} - Something you know that you do differently than most people

I am such a grammar/spelling geek.
And I mean, 'geek'!!
When people incorrectly use the word 'is'
(i.e.: There IS five plates on the table.)
it just drives.me.nuts!!!
So, yes, that's something that I definitely know I do differently than other people...most don't really care to check their grammar/spelling in a letter/email...and of course not while talking!

(The two cartoon joke photos, I thought, were hilarious ;)

{Day 19} - A talent of yours

Well, a lot of people say that I am very talented in singing and dancing...
*shrugs*
They ARE two of my favorite pasttimes, so...since I do them so often, I guess I can get pretty good at them. :D
I guess you would have to know me to agree...
Maybe I could post a video of me singing one of these days?

The Power of Music

A couple years ago, I wrote an article entitled The Power of Music. I decided to repost it, but after…shall we say ‘updating’ it a little. :)

Many of you know what kind of music I listen to. Now I would like to make one thing clear…just because I post about favorite artists and songs, doesn’t mean that I fully endorse all of their songs, CDs, concerts, etc. Some artists/groups, I know a lot about and do, indeed, endorse their ministry…whereas, others I have only heard one (at the least) songs by them. Please do not think that I endorse something by them that you may come across while researching them, that you don’t particularly agree with or like. I am a very picky person when it comes to music. When people ask me what my favorite type of music is, I can’t honestly say because if I said ‘Contemporary Christian’, that covers a few different styles of music – some of which I don’t enjoy. And, sadly, most contemporary ‘Christian’ music isn’t as ‘Christian’ anymore. Groups, nowadays, think that they need to get a little off the narrow way to have their albums sell well and to be in the top charts of the best/most popular music. That’s another reason why I’m so careful about saying that kind of music I like, because I never know if I’m talking to an unbeliever or even a baby Christian. If they find a radio station that plays contemporary ‘Christian’ music and hear something that isn’t Godly at all, what will they think of me?

Here is a quote from ‘Guidelines for Christian Music’ that I heartily agree with:

‘With all the different styles of music in the world today, the question will arise concerning what types of styles of music are appropriate in the local New Testament Church for the Christian today. We realize that this subject is a sensitive one in which people indeed have different styles and tastes in music they prefer. The Christian must therefore look to the Word of God for principles for music used to praise and worship the Lord, especially the music and performers we place before our people and set as role models for our children.’

But, even though I don’t always listen to the music of a song, the words are really what matter!! Sometimes I’ll come across a song that the music, I don’t really care for that much, but the words are amazing and totally what I’m either, feeling at the moment or just really speak to me. At other times, I catch myself liking the music, but the words, either, don’t make sense or aren’t what I would list as ‘Godly’.

So let me ask you something…are you listening to music just because the sound is pleasing to you or are you listening to it because the words are God-glorifying, worshipful, praise words, your prayer to your Savior, etc. Many times we let ourselves listen to music that is pleasing to our flesh, but is it the kind of music that God would want us to be listening to? Would you listen to it if He was listening to it with you? Is it glorifying Him or you?

Music is a powerful thing. Don’t let it get a hold of you. Be sure you control what you are listening to, and not the other way around. Music and songs will stay with you for the rest of your life. Don’t scar your minds with songs that you will later regret listening to.

When you sing the popular praise song: ‘Lord, I lift Your Name on high. Lord, I love to sing Your praises! I’m so glad You’re in my life. I’m so glad You came to save us…’ are you really meaning it? Is that your prayer? I hope so…because it’s going straight to God’s ears…He’ll know if you’re sincere or not.

So, just for future reference, some artists/groups that I post about, I may not agree with other songs by them, but the song I do a post on, I mean as my prayer, my cry to my Savior…my song of praise.

Blessings!

{Day 18} - A time you feel passionate and alive

When I'm listening to music and worshiping my Jesus!!
I sometimes get so overwhelmed while praising Him that I just start crying.  To know that He loves me so much...the Creator of this WORLD!...and He cares about the smallest details in my life...that is overwhelming...and it makes me feel passionate and alive. ♥

{Day 16} - A song that makes you cry

My family and I were going through a very hard and trying ordeal not long after watching FIREPROOF.  This song can apply to really, anyone who is waiting on the LORD...for me, it was because of being rejected by some people who we thought were our closest friends.  'While I'm Waiting' summarizes my cry and prayer to the LORD, telling Him that through all the trials He sends our way...I will still wait on Him...for my strength...comfort...peace.  I know that ALL of this will work out for HIS glory!!
While listening to this song, I just get so overwhelmed remembering how much God loves me...and that the only thing I can do, during hard times, is wait on Him.
I hope everyone who listens to this song, remembers that too!

{Day 15} - Someone you admire

I would definitely have to say, without a doubt:

Kirk Cameron

to know about a Hollywood actor who won't even kiss a woman who is not his wife, is absolutely FABULOUS!!
They're adorable together ;)

The scene in FIREPROOF - that's CHELSEA!!! :D ♥

This is one of my FAVORITE pictures of them!!  They are SOOO cute together!!!!! ♥♥♥

On October 7th, and 8th, they were guests on Focus on the Family.  They did a two part series called:
'Making Your Marriage a High Priotiry'...
Here are direct links to listen to them online...I definitely encourage you to do so!!  I SO enjoyed it!

God bless you both, Kirk and Chelsea!!  Thank you so much for the wonderful Christian example that you are to everyone.  I love you both!

{Day 13} - A guilty pleasure

While most women's guilty pleasures have something to do with chocolate...I think mine (above chocolate, actually), would have to be

...Italian Sodas...

I just don't get them as often as I wish I could! :P

But, goodness, if you ever are so kind as to get one for me, be sure you have the person (who's making it ;) put TONS of whipped cream!! ;)

Thank you :)

PS:  And maybe you COULD add a little box of chocolates to go with it ;)

While You Were Sleeping...

So...a few weeks ago, I got to watch (for the FIRST time), the movie that everyone else seems to have already watched.  Granted, it IS a bit of an 'older' movie...but I FINALLY got to see it one Thursday evening, when I stayed at my aunt and uncle's house. ;)

I liked it.  I had heard a LOT about it...and I guess, I was expecting just a...little bit more than what it was, but I still enjoyed it.  I thought it was cute.  The storyline/plot was adorable ;)

Starring in this movie is:

Sandra Bullock as Lucy Eleanor Moderatz
(a very well-known actress)
and actually, this was the first time I had seen her! (I know, can you believe it?!)
She did...a fantastic job!!  I really, really liked her in this movie! (I have yet to see her in others...)

Also...

Bill Pullman as Jack Callaghan
(I REALLY liked him in this movie!!! ;)

Peter Gallagher as Peter Callaghan
(Okay...I.do.not.like.this.guy!! :P Ew!!  So glad she picks...well...you'll have to see the movie ;)

Lucy with, who she THINKS, she loves ;) :P

Peter Boyle as Ox Callaghan...
I think he did a good job in this movie...I know I've seen him somewhere else, but I don't remember where :P

Jack Warden as Saul
I really, really liked this guy's character :) and Jack did a fantastic job!

Glynis Johns as Elsie
You may or may not recognize her from Mary Poppins - with Julie Andrews.  She plays Mrs. Banks ;)

I couldn't find good pictures of the other actors/actresses, but here is a family picture :)

HAPPY ending :) ♥

I would definitely recommend watching this on ClearPlay or just buy the DVD edited.  There are quite a few bad words, and also a couple scenes that could easily have been skipped.  But, if you like chic flicks and cute romances, you'll like this one ;)

{Day 12} - A song that you want played at your wedding

I.love.this.song!! ♥

Sweetheart, wherever you are out there, this song is for you!  I love you already!

{Day 11} - A photo of you taken recently

Hmm...I think this was the most recent picture taken of me :)
It was at a camp that my family and I went to for the day.  Some friends of ours were there for the whole week, but we traveled out there just to spend a day with them.  It was a lot of fun!
I look kind of tired out here because I had just gotten back from a 4 mile long hike!  Whew!  But LOADS of fun! ;)
