You Need To Get a Boyfriend

‘You need to get a boyfriend.’

These words were said to me just a couple weeks ago.

I sighed.  I need to get a boyfriend, I thought to myself.

Wait!  Do I really?

In today’s culture, it’s a norm for 13 year olds to have boyfriends.  It’s pretty cool to have one when you’re 12.  A bit of a new idea to have one when you’re 11.  And it’s okay if you have one when you’re 10.  I mean, better sooner than later, right?  How can a little girl who is allowed to watch chic flicks at the age of 9 not be allowed to have a boyfriend at age 10?

I remember the first time I was asked if I had a boyfriend.  I was about 13…maybe 14.  I honestly didn’t know how to respond at first.  A lot of my peers had boyfriends already.  Not necessarily my friends, but I did know of some girls who had gone out on dates already.  I am blessed to be surrounded by friends who have – mostly! – the same mindset as my family and I do.  But of course, that doesn’t mean that I don’t have friends who are public schooled, believe in dating, etc.

So how did I respond to people’s questions of ‘Do you have a boyfriend yet?’ or ‘When are you getting a boyfriend?

I answered, with my innocent 13-year-old heart, ‘I don’t date.’

Most people were a little shocked (probably thinking in their heads ‘Wow!  That’s one crazy little girl!).

Others just kinda laughed.  To me, I didn’t really see anything so funny about it.  I didn’t date at age 13! (And that doesn’t mean that I do now, but…that’s another story :)

If you’ve read any of my other posts about guys, romance, etc. then you’d know that I’m a very romantic person.  In fact, I’m the most romantic person you’re ever going to meet. ;)  Why am I so romantic?

Well, #1I’m a girl.  (Pretty easy to see that!)
#2God created romance and put it into each person.  (Yes, I know that’s hard to believe, but even in your great-uncle who’s a hermit and has a long beard all the way down to his knees…he has thought of girls before!)
And
#3Romance is beautiful.

Not a day goes by that I don’t wish for this:

But as a daughter of the King, I know and trust and have faith in HIM, that He will bring ‘that boyfriend’ to me soon…and as soon as HE pleases.

For now…I’ll just have to keep on being that romantic girl who ‘needs to get a boyfriend’. ;)

Trust God and stay strong!  I know there are other romancers out there too ;)

Attention! To All Book Bliss Photography Entrants!

Yay!  I got the linky fixed!! :)  So, I'm sorry to ask you to do this again, but if you could please 're-link-up' on the photography contest post, that would be FANTASTIC!!

Thank you so much! <3

Tangled

This is my #1 favorite animated movie.
That's it!  End of post :D haha

So many people knew that I loved this movie, that I was given TWO copies of it!! :)  I was nice enough, though, to give one of them to some friends of mine...I know.  I'm so sweet. ;)

~*~

Mandy Moore as...

Rapunzel

Mandy has such an amazing voice!!  And she was perfect for the role of Rapunzel.  I mean, nobody could've played her better.  Mandy is Rapunzel.  Except that she doesn't have blonde hair that's about 100 feet long. :)

While some people question a Christian's 'like' of Tangled, I honestly don't think there's anything seriously wrong with liking this movie.  I mean, you're not going to find a movie, nowadays, that doesn't have anything wrong with it.  Just like any other movie, Tangled has its faults...the biggest one being that the storyline encourages kids that it's okay to 'run away from mommy'.
But the overall story...is good. ;)

The iguana (no, it's not a frog ;) is...adorable. ♥  I just wanna squish and cuddle him!! haha

Zachary Levi as...

Flynn Rider

I had never heard of/seen Zachary Levi in anything before Tangled, and I think he's a good actor.  I can't really judge much from just his voice talents (which are good!), but I'd like to see him in something else before actually saying that he's superb. ;)

Flynn is adorable.  And actually, I go to church with a guy that reminds me SOOO much of Flynn Rider, it's not even funny!  It's crazy, that's what it is.

Donna Murphy as...

Mother Gothell

I've only see Donna Murphy in Spiderman-2 (where she plays Doctor Octapus' wife).  She has an incredible singing voice! (which, of course, I didn't know, till I watched Tangled).  She did really good!  And Mother Gothell makes me a laugh a lot. :D haha

Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi pose with their 'characters' at Disneyland.

Okay, SOMEBODY comment and admit that I am not the only Tangled fan ;)

Yogurt, Coffee, Movies and Friends

I was introduced to Yogurtland for the first time last Thursday.
My bro was ecstatic to take me. :)

I love this place now!!  It's like one of my favorites!!!

They have legit yogurt flavors...and legit prices...and legit everything.
(Okay, now I'm starting to sound like a crazy city-person...:P ;) haha)

 Alfonzo liked the bathroom mirror...

And you know how you can tell if a restaurant is careful about cleanliness?
When they have a clean bathroom.

So basically what you do is...

go down the yogurt aisle, choose a yogurt, pour it in your cup...

Add all kinds of amazing toppings!
Take it to the counter,
they weigh it for you (and charge you per ounce!)
and then you get to sit and enjoy it.
This was mine:
Craving it yet??
I got Mango, New York Cheescake and Dutch Chocolate yogurt.
With toppings: chocolate M&M's, mint pieces, blueberries, Reese's pieces, and cookie dough.
Yummy?  No kidding.

Make a cool face with da amazing yogurt!!

So yes, this place passed my approval :)

A friend (Michael) joined us later, and we headed down the street to the Bridge City Cafe.
Another amazing place.

^ Michael's
Noah's ^
Very quaint, classic, and overall fun-smelling place.

Sorry you can't see the whole name :P

They had these super cool lights above each table/booth!  Alfonso thought they were pretty cool.

Then later, Michael's twin sister joined us...
Michael and Michelle.
They're are pretty cool (and crazy) kids.
I love them both! :)

I was trying to get the whole light-through-the-flowers affect...

That's Michael standing to the right of this pic...

After we got our bellies full with yogurt and coffee (oh and Michael got a apple-filled crousanwich), we headed down to the Bridgeport Theater to see 'Seven Days in Utopia'.  (Keep an eye out for the movie review!)
Then afterwards, we stayed at Michael and Michelle's family's house...stayed up till past 11PM, eating ribs, and looking up Oregon towns.

And on FRIDAY, I got to visit my art school. :)  I'm not going this term/year, but it was good to see everyone again.  After school got out, we all headed to the Clackamas Mall.  I didn't take Alfonzo inside because I didn't want to be carrying him around everywhere (he was mad at me afterwards), but...we had a blast!!  A few of us got to go actually...
my amazing friend Anna, Stevo, Josh, Patrick, Forrest, Noah and me.
We hung out.
Drank Jamba Juice.
Ate food (Anna and I got burritos at TacoTime).
And watched 'Captain America'.  It was Noah's and my second time.  Everyone else's first. ;)
 Stayed up till almost 1AM.

Then came home Saturday morning...took a shower...and crashed on my bed.
An awesome weekend.  Why?
Because God is so good.

Confessions of a Shopaholic

So I guess this movie is based on the novel (bearing the same title), but I am not familiar with the book, so I am not going to recommend it.  This review is only for the movie. :)

I saw this movie with my cousin and a batch of her girlfriends.  (I talk about them as cookies...they're all so sweet :)
We were laughing hysterically throughout the whole thing.  The guys in the other room were like 'whu??' haha

Isla Fisher as...
 Rebecca Bloomwood

Okay, Isla reminds me SO much of Amy Adams, it's not even funny!  Seriously, I just kept seeing Amy on the screen!
Personally, though...I like Isla's facial features better.  Even though they do look a lot alike, Isla is just cuter. :)  (I really like her name too!)

This movie was a little hard for me to like, because I really dislike the ditzy blondes (well, in this case 'reddish blonde').  They really...annoy me. :/

But I found myself laughing constantly and just...falling in love with the storyline.  I know that it's really true (for a lot of women in today's culture), and that saddened me.  But, it was good movie. :)  And it had a good ending :)

There are some ridiculous outfits in this movie too! haha  But I fell in love with two of them.
This one ^

And this one ^
I want to twirl around on the street in that skirt.
End of story.

Hugh Dancy as...
Luke Brandon

Okay, I'm gonna be honest here...
It was really hard for me to like Luke, because honestly...Hugh just isn't that attractive-looking.  (Plus his name is Hugh, which reminds me too much of Hugh Grant.  Very bothering!!)

But this movie gave a perfect example of looks not being everything.
Even though his face kinda bothered me sometimes, his character was the SWEETEST!!

Okay, I admit that's a cute face ^ :)

Krysten Ritter as...
 Suze

This girl CRACKED ME UP!!  You know how every movie has to have that one super funny person.  Suze was that person. :)  I think she was a really good friend to Rebecca, but...maybe she just needed to put her foot down a little harder and more often.

 I liked her, though.
I've seen her in another movie...uh...what was it?...Bride Wars!  That's it!  She only plays a small part, but...she's in there. :)
(I'm pretty sure I'm thinking of the right movie...)

I liked the color of her dress here ^, I just wish it was a bit more modest. :/

 Her very office-style-but-cute-and-chic outfit ^.

And of course, the kiss!  And LOOK!!  She's wearing the skirt that I like!! :D
I love her hair here ^ too!

To close, I will say that it wasn't my favorite chic flick, and it's not a movie that I'd be like 'You have GOT to see this!!', but...it was good.  And sweet.  And I did like it. :)

Have you seen Confessions of a Shopaholic?

A Brother and Sister Photoshoot

Remember Jacque??  She did that photoshoot of me a little while ago.  Well, anyway, she asked if Noah and I could let her do a brother/sister photoshoot with her.

Of course, we said 'yes'!!  I was honored to be asked to do one with her again. :)  And Noah and I have been needing some pics together anyway. ;)

So...here they are!

Me: 'This is my bro...and he's strong!!'
Noah: 'This is my sister...and she's heavy!!'

 Definitely our NUMBER 1 favorite!!!
And Jacque said the same thing...'This one is my favorite...EVER!' :)

Then she took some of us solo...

Me and my grass :D haha I love posing with this stuff!!

Hope you enjoyed those!!  I know I sure did.  I am so excited to have some updated photos of me and my bro!! ♥♥♥

Sorry for all the posts today!! :P haha
