So many times we take for granted how important and life-changing the little things in life can be.
The way you answer to your mother’s request, demonstrates and sets an example to your younger siblings.
When you realize that washing the dishes is advancing the Kingdom of God.
How you stop and smell a dew-drenched rose and remember that if God cares for that beautiful rose…how much more He cares for you.
The little things can either be good…or bad.
And so many times, during every single day, we are given the choices to realize or submit to these little things.
God has really been showing me how much these little things really matter. The other day, I was reading an article and the author pointed out how wiping a dirty bottom, cleaning a runny nose, washing a sink full of dishes…all of these are great and noble tasks, because – if done with the right motive and heart – they are each, in their own way, advancing the kingdom of God. When you serve your family, you serve God. When you stoop to something that you think is ‘below your status’, you are serving God.
‘Inasmuch as you do this, to the least of My brethren…you do it unto Me.’
So instead of complaining about having another plate to wash, another bloody knee to clean, another load of laundry to wash…look at these things as ways to set a good example and be a good steward of what the LORD has blessed you with. You may not feel that you have a specific calling…but a Christian is never without a goal. As believers, we have each been deemed a set goal…
To further the kingdom of God and be a shining light to this dark world.
Even in the little things.
Take heart, dear friends! Seize these days that you are living in and live up to great expectations. Live to serve our King! Live to advance His kingdom.
Remember to serve Him in the little things…

Amazing. Simply amazing post <3 Thank you so much for this, Raquel :)
So very true. And it is through those little things that we can bring glory to God and cause others to come to Christ! What an awe-inspiring thought that is.
Thank for the reminder Miss Raquel :) Sierra

Thanks for posting! I really needed this today.
What a great reminder...it does get a little frustrating at times to have to do those "dirty" things in life! But what a good way to think of it.
And your mentioning of smelling a rose has suddenly made me crave spring so badly! Which is no good, Raquel!! Our snow is just starting here! ;)

Loved this. :) :) And something funny--I'm starting a monthly photo challenge, and a few days ago I decided this month's would be "the little things." :] Didn't know your thoughts would be in that direction, too! ;)
..But you are so right. Amen, sistah!

I was praying the other night and I also came upon the little things in life I take for granted! I have noticed many bloggers also posting about this. Seems to me that God is laying this on many hearts :)

Thank you soooo much for this post! Some days I feel like I'm not doing anything important, but this reminded me that even on those days I can do great things. Thanks again!
I learned that too, in the last year, its the little things that matter.

Wonderful post! This is really helping me out right now :)
P.S. Could you maybe invite me to join Pinterest? I have been waiting for an invite from the website, but that was a few days ago. If you can't or don't want to, I totally understand :) I was just wondering.
