Oh goodness…I haven’t done a rambling post in so long… ::sighs:: Let’s try updating my readers on little bits of my life.

So, as I sit here, cross-legged, still in my pj’s (it’s early morning, okay?), my brain is seriously overwhelmed with stuff that’s been happening these last couple of months.  I will hope to give more details in several other posts (I want to share what the LORD’s been teaching me), but for right now…I’m going to focus in mainly on the crazy, fun things that I’ve been able to do lately:)  Savvy?

Oh and Keith Urban’s gonna help me with this too.  ‘But By the Grace of God’ is playing right now… ::takes a deep breath::

---

As always, I’m never quite sure where to start with these posts, so I’m just going to dive in and start with… ::fishes hand in bowl::

I was given a cello.

Yes, that big, amazing incredible-sounding instrument. ::nods::  Pretty rad, I know.  An older gentleman at my church, who recently lost his wife (the cello-player of the family), found out that I was interested in learning it – or at least, trying to – and he offered me one of his wife’s cellos. I was completely blown-away, of course.  But thrilled at the same time!  I’ve told a couple of you about this…and all of you insisted that I make a video of me playing it.  But…we’ll see…
I haven’t even found a cello teacher yet – or anything!  I’ve been looking around for someone to just show me the basics of the instrument because, since I know music, I’m sure I’d be able to teach myself quite a bit.  But just to learn the simple, basics would be fabulous.  I’m still keeping an eye out;)

Knight and I recently got some new pictures taken together.  Photo Credit goes to my amazing friend, Leilani Schmidt.

Yes, my horse is adorable.

And while we’re on the subject of photoshoots…
A friend of mine, Lydia Johnston, recently asked me to model for her.  She is a professional model and has recently been getting into photography (from behind the camera;).  I was more than willing to volunteer for her.  I’m always looking for new modeling opportunities.  This photoshoot was like none I had done before.
It was a very…intense…extreme…fierce theme.  Nothing I had ever done before.

Makeup, hair and photography credits go to Lydia Johnston.

And here are a couple examples of the fruits of our labors…

---

So I’ve decided to make this official.  Well, actually, it already is, but…not blog official;)  So… ::clears throat:: here, here!
Miss Raquel is a very loyal…very much a fan of…Dutch Bros.

If you ever want to make my day, just buy me a Dutch Bros.

And here are a few photographic proofs of my love for this amazing coffee place.

Dutch Bros. forever amen.

{Ashes Remain – On My Own}

I have seriously been considering doing a vlog.  Not a daily one or anything like that.  Just a one-time thing……………okay, maybe I’ll do it a couple times.  It depends on the amount of feedback I get on it.  AND how many of you would like me to do one.  So, be sure to comment and tell me if it sounds like something you’d be interested in me doing:)

---

And to close this post…

I just wanted to say a big ‘thank-you’ to all of you readers/fans who have taken the time to e-mail me.  Comments are one thing – and yes, I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!  Don’t ever stop commenting, please!
But e-mails are so, so sweet and special to me.  That you actually take the time to e-mail me and just encourage me, tell me how much you enjoy reading ‘God’s Daughter’, what your favorite post was this week or month, or something that you’d like me to write on…anything!  Every single e-mail means so much to me.  Really and truly.  And I’ve noticed that they always come at moments that I need them the most.  Times when I need to know that my blog isn’t just a waste of time.  That people actually read it – and ENJOY what they read.
Ooh!  AND…I love it when people e-mail me stuff that has ‘reminded them of me’! I’ve had two girls e-mail me (at different times) with stuff about Tangled;)  Here is one example:

‘Hey Raquel!  I have been following your blog for quite some time now and when I came across this picture it reminded me of you!  I had to send it to you! :)  Love your blog!
-Tabitha'

‘Dear Miss Raquel,
I just wanted to e-mail and tell you how much I love your blog!  Your blog has been an inspiration to me in my own blogging.  I enjoy the variety of posts you do and I relaly like your movie reviews, too, whether I’ve seen the movie or not.  I also love looking at your boards on Pinterest!  You have so many cool pins.  I’m probably going to be repinning a lot of them! :)  Thanks for writing such a great blog!
Your sister in Christ,
-Erin’

God really uses e-mails like those ^ to bless and encourage me.  You have no idea how much!
So thank you!  To all my readers and fans and followers…to my commenters…to the people to take the time to e-mail me.  You guys are what keep ‘God’s Daughter’ going.  Love you all! ::hugs::

Ooh!!  You know my cousin, Hani, who went to Uganda this year??  Well guess what?!  She’s BACK!!  She wasn’t supposed to come back till late July, but…God wanted her home in the U.S. and He made everything possible for her to come back to Oregon.  None of her family (or MY family) told me that she was coming back…so we went over to their house last week and she surprised me.  Oh my goodness, I started crying and screaming and…it was awesome.  Hani is one of my BEST, best friends and I have missed her so incredibly much.  It feels sooo good to have her home! <3  Oh!  And she brought me this amazing handmade necklace from Uganda.  Beautiful, right?

---

Keep an eye out for a movie review soon!  I posted on my blog’s FB status that I was going to do one a couple weeks ago, but…life has been a bit hectic and I haven’t gotten around to doing that review.  But I promise I will soon! Hopefully this week.

Where am I? I’m sitting at my table that also doubles as my work desk, in my bedroom, which also happens to be in the hayloft of an old barn. Where can you beat that kind of built in inspiration?

You were given a Cello?! Sweet! I'll bet it will always be special to you, especially because of the story behing it.

Gah, you are so beautiful. You look a lot like Kim Kardashian minus the skankiness. :)

I'd love to see a vlog! :D And emails and comments are DEFINITELY fun and great because it is hard to know sometimes if people really are reading or enjoying what one blogs about. So I get what you mean!

And I'm reading this post on my cherry red laptop at my dining room table. It's a gorgeous day today! :D

hey girl!

thank you so much for your sweet, encouraging comment on my latest post. :) that meant so much to me to hear--and of course I promise you a photo shoot! :)

you got a cello! sweet! that is so great. :) yesyes, post a video of you playing once you get going some! I have always wanted to pick up another instrument; been playing the piano for going on 10 years (and have some students, now!) and I love that to death, but I have had my eye on the flute. ;)

knight is looking beautiful! he is so photogenic. ;) and wow, I saw those pics on facebook and wasn't sure who they were of at first! and then I was like, "oh my word! it's raquel!" ..haha, yeah, doesn't seem like your style at all! a little more seductive than what I would envision you posing like. :) .. the first one's cool, though--you look like a Cleopatra or something..:D

aww isn't fan mail sweet?? I love it when I get e-mails, too...and hand-written cards, sometimes! so encouraging! those notes are so sweet. :) and ohhh goodness that picture is hilarious...right. on. ;D

Oh,awesome,I would love to try a cello,in fact I'm dying to try one. I play the violin (the highest pitched string instrument.)
So the cello I think would be fairly easy to pick up.

Your friend did an awesome makeup job,its like a butterfly, and purple is definitely your color.

p.s. I'm dying to style your hair, can you move to the other side of the US. :)

Hmmm....to tell or not to tell, all right I'm commenting while I'm practicing flips on a balance beam by using my friends iphone....

Okay, yes I'm jk, I'm just sitting at the kitchen table. but I was doing the flips in my mind!

I love your rambling posts! :)

As I read this, I'm babysitting 4 of our 5 little siblings with my older brother. My uncle came to visit a couple hours ago (he was bored. Waiting for our cousin-his nephew to finish drivers ed), so we're all in the living room having a great time reading jokes, playing cheesy music, and just hanging out. Then he left, and my brother and I will be babysitting for the next 2 hours. :) It's been a really fun day, though. :)

I am sitting on the floor on the garage, during a produce co-op, tired and wanting to go back to bed.
Want Cello inspiration? Go see The Piano Guys - they play more cellos than pianos, and they are STUNNING.
Vloggin... Maybe I should do that...

I was thinking to myself the other day, "You know Raquel hasn't done a rambling post in a while!" And now as my catching up on posts and commenting, I come across one! :) First your question: I am sitting on the sofa sipping on some iced coffee and wishing Dutch Bros. would come to the east coast. :) I would love to see you do a vlog! I am a big fan of vlogs. You could be a model! :) Those pictures are great and your hair and makeup are perfect for the shoot! That's amazing that you were given a cello. That's a pretty cool instrument to have. Best of luck in learning! (Maybe you could give us a bit of a concert when you do your vlog? :D) This blog is so great! I am so glad I found it. Keep up the good work!
